British Army Boosts Firepower With Advanced Howitzers
The UK has announced plans to procure 72 Remote Controlled Howitzers 155mm (RCH 155) under a $1.35 billion contract, with first deliveries slated to begin in 2028. The new guns, mounted on Boxer armored vehicles, will provide the British Army with a long-term, close support artillery capability. The order has been held up by delays to the Defence Investment Plan, but approval of the RCH 155 acquisition will fill a gap in the UK’s artillery capabilities. The contract will be managed by the Organization for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) and will include training and in-service support, as reported by Breaking Defense.
