Australia Hosts Large-Scale Military Training Across Northern Territory
The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has announced the return of Exercise Pitch Black, a biennial international flying exercise, which will take place from July 20 to August 7, 2026. The exercise will bring together aircraft and personnel from multiple countries for nearly three weeks of large-scale military training across northern Australia. The RAAF will open parts of the exercise to the public, including a flypast over Mindil Beach in Darwin and the RAAF Darwin Open Day. The exercise is designed to improve coordination between Australia and its regional and global partner air forces through complex, combat-like scenarios. This was first reported by AeroTime.
