Directed Energy Systems To Be Deployed At Five Military Installations
The Pentagon’s counter-drone task force has announced a new pilot program aimed at fielding directed energy systems for UAS defense to five military installations across the country. The initiative, led by Joint Interagency Task Force 401, aims to protect infrastructure, military installations, and domestic missions against unmanned aerial systems. The program will deploy directed energy systems, including high-energy lasers and microwave systems, to Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and Fort Bliss, Texas, among other locations.
