Seven Leading Tech Companies Approved For Classified Networks
The Pentagon has announced agreements with seven leading tech firms to deploy their AI capabilities on its classified networks, marking a significant expansion of its efforts to integrate commercial AI into the Defense Department. The move aims to establish the US military as an AI-first fighting force, with the seven companies’ AIs now approved for networks handling secret data and the most highly classified systems. The development builds on the standup of the secure but unclassified GenAI.mil platform in December, and is part of Secretary Pete Hegseth’s push to bring rapidly advancing commercial AI into the Defense Department.
