Nuclear Powered Battleship Offers Enhanced Endurance And Firepower
The US Navy has confirmed that the Trump-class battleship will be outfitted with the same nuclear reactor as the Gerald R Ford aircraft carrier. According to Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Daryl Caudle, the battleship will share several design features with the Ford class, including the A1B nuclear reactor, steam generator, and reactor cooling pump components. The Navy plans to have 15 battleships by 2056, with the first delivery slated for 2036.
