Revolutionizing Space Exploration With Enhanced Computing Power
NASA, in partnership with Microchip Technology, has begun testing a next-generation processor designed to address the lack of onboard computing power in spacecraft. The new chip is nearly 500 times more efficient than current radiation-resistant counterparts and is designed to withstand space radiation and extreme temperatures. This innovation may enable future spacecraft to independently analyze data and make critical decisions in real time, without waiting for signals to travel to Earth and back. The development was reported by Universe Space Tech.
