Dutch Aircraft Developer Files Bankruptcy After SkyWest Investment
Dutch aircraft developer Maeve Aerospace has collapsed, ending its ambitious effort to develop a hybrid-electric regional aircraft. The company, which had been working on the Maeve Jet with twin rear-mounted open-rotor engines, was declared bankrupt in the Netherlands on May 28, 2026. Maeve had drawn interest from several airlines, including Delta Air Lines and Japan Airlines, and had secured a strategic equity investment from SkyWest Airlines. The company’s collapse leaves uncertainty around the future of the aircraft program and its German subsidiary. The news was first reported by AeroTime.
