Tokyo Carrier Expands Maintenance Capabilities Amid Global Demand
Japan Airlines has started construction on a new landing gear maintenance factory at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, expected to be completed by the end of December 2027. The facility will bring together currently dispersed functions into a single site, introducing automated and labor-saving systems, as well as new technology equipment. JAL aims to strengthen its maintenance capabilities, improve quality and production efficiency, and reduce environmental impact. The new factory is part of JAL’s effort to position itself as a next-generation hub for landing gear overhaul work, as reported by AeroTime.
