NASA Telescopes Collaborate On Historic Milky Way Center Observation
NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has conducted a large-scale survey of the Milky Way’s galactic bulge, gathering crucial data that will support the upcoming observations of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. The Roman telescope, set to launch in early September 2026, will utilize this data to study the galactic bulge in unprecedented detail, searching for exoplanets, rogue planets, and other celestial objects. The survey, which began in the spring of 2025, has provided a wealth of information on the region, including the identification of areas of extinction and the creation of a catalog of stars. This effort was first reported by NASA Science.
