Bold Initiative Aims To Erase Staffing Shortage And Enhance Safety
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has released a bold, new air traffic controller workforce plan aimed at erasing the longstanding staffing shortage and ensuring the long-term safety and operational efficiency of the National Airspace System. The plan, based on three strategic pillars, targets a full staffing target of 12,563 Certified Professional Controllers and focuses on expanding hiring, optimizing controller efficiency, and modernizing the NAS. According to the FAA, this initiative will provide the American flying public with a world-class air traffic control system, as reported by the Federal Aviation Administration.
