European Long-Range Strike Capability Takes Shape
Destinus, a Swiss-Dutch defense company, and Germany’s Rheinmetall are accelerating the development of RUTA Block 3, a 2,000-kilometer range precision-strike weapon. The system is designed for autonomous navigation and uses a Destinus T220 turbojet engine and a 250-kilogram-class warhead. Production will be distributed across the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Germany, with Rheinmetall and Destinus establishing a joint venture at Rheinmetall’s Unterlüß facility. The announcement comes as European governments rebuild their missile production base, as reported by AeroTime.
