Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier Adds Seventh Italian Base Amid Market Growth
Wizz Air is expanding its presence in Western Europe with the announcement of a new base at Torino-Caselle Airport, its seventh in Italy. The ultra-low-cost carrier will base two Airbus A321neo aircraft at the airport, with a focus on Spanish and Italian destinations. From Torino, Wizz Air will operate multiple routes, including daily flights to Barcelona and Naples, and four times weekly to Madrid and Valencia. The new base is part of Wizz Air’s broader strategy to consolidate its position in the Italian market, where it already has at least 36 aircraft based. This development was first reported by AeroTime.
