Individual Breaches Airside Security, Attacks Aircraft with Hand Tool
A United States Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport aircraft was significantly damaged after an individual breached airside security at Shannon Airport in Ireland and attacked the aircraft with a hand tool. The incident occurred on April 11, 2026, when the individual gained unauthorized access to a restricted area of the airport and targeted the aircraft, which was parked on a remote taxiway stand. The aircraft sustained multiple impact points on the upper wing surface and fuselage, with visible dents and possible penetration of the aluminum skin.
