Africa Becomes Key Arena for Global Resource Competition
The US and EU have launched the Lobito Corridor Project Vault, a $12 billion initiative to secure critical minerals supply from Africa. The project involves the development of a 1,300-kilometer transport corridor connecting Angola’s Atlantic coast to the mineral-rich Copperbelt, as well as the establishment of strategic reserves and equity positioning. This move is seen as a response to China’s growing dominance in the global critical minerals market, and may indicate a new era of strategic competition for resource access. The initiative was first reported by Unknown Source.
