New Organization To Support Acquisition Mission In Space Systems
The Space Force is nearing the completion of its acquisition structure reorganization, with the final three Portfolio Acquisition Executive offices to be established in the coming months. According to Gen. Philip Garrant, the head of Space Systems Command, the new structure aims to support the acquisition mission and will be at full operational capability by Nov. 27. The service is also working to rebuild its acquisition workforce, with plans to hire several hundred employees to fill open billets and support new programs. The reorganization was discussed during the 41st Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, as reported by Breaking Defense.
