Force Design And Analysis Office Replaces Planned Futures Command
The US Space Force has established a new staff organization, SF/S9 Force Design and Analysis, to support the service’s chief in his role as Force Design Architect for Space. The new group, which replaces the previously planned Space Futures Command, will be responsible for forecasting the service’s future operating environment, developing operational concepts and doctrine, and prioritizing science and technology efforts. The move was announced in a memo signed by Chief of Space Operations Gen. Chance Saltzman and obtained by Breaking Defense.
