Australia Expands Electronic Warfare Capabilities
The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has taken delivery of its first ALQ-249 next-generation jammer mid-band jamming pods, developed by Raytheon. This marks a significant milestone in Australia’s efforts to enhance its electronic warfare capabilities. The RAAF had expressed interest in joining the program about a decade ago, and Australia is now the first export customer for the standoff jamming system. The development was first reported by Aviation Week.
