Stealth Bomber Production Rate Increases By 25 Percent
Northrop Grumman will invest $2.5 billion to accelerate production of the B-21 stealth bomber, with the goal of increasing the production rate by 25 percent. The majority of the funding will be spent between 2027 and 2029, primarily on facilities. The Air Force is considering increasing its order of B-21s from 100 to 145, which could further enhance the program’s economics. Northrop Grumman’s CEO, Kathy Warden, announced the investment on a financial earnings call, stating that the deal improves the program’s economics for both the government and the company.
