European Manufacturer Advances Rotary Program With Future Tech Integration
NHIndustries has agreed to a €15 million contract with the NATO Helicopter Management Agency to conduct a NH90 helicopter Block 2 architecture study. The study aims to integrate the aircraft with future technologies, targeting the operational needs of the 2040s battlefield. The effort will develop additional capability enhancements beyond the ongoing Block 1/Software Release 3 upgrade. The NH90 program has faced customer dissatisfaction, but the manufacturer believes there are commercial opportunities for up to 100 additional aircraft sales.
