Defense Giant Drops Out Of Undergraduate Jet Training System Bid
Lockheed Martin has announced its decision not to pursue the US Navy’s Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS) competition, citing the required level of US content and other reasons. The company had planned to bid the TF-50N in partnership with Korea Aerospace Industries. The move narrows the field of competitors to three, with Textron, SNC, and Boeing remaining in the running. The Navy expects to order up to 216 aircraft to replace the aging T-45 Goshawk. This development was first reported by Breaking Defense.
