NASA Mission Delivers New Science Amid Uncertain Future
NASA’s Juno spacecraft has uncovered powerful lightning flashes on Jupiter, at least 100 times more powerful than those on Earth. The findings, published in AGU Advances, were based on data recorded by Juno in 2021 and 2022. Although Juno remains in good health after completing its five-year science campaign, its future remains uncertain as NASA has not announced another extension for the mission. The discovery was reported by Ars Technica, citing research from NASA’s Juno spacecraft.
