Emirates Global Aluminium Suspends Deliveries After Iranian Attack
Emirates Global Aluminium, the Middle East’s top aluminum producer, has declared force majeure on some contracts after an Iranian attack on its Al Taweelah smelter. The plant, one of the world’s largest, produced 1.6 million tons of aluminum in 2025. The move comes as the company halted operations at the smelter following the attack. The Middle East produces about 9% of global aluminum supply, with EGA and others playing a key role in supplying manufacturers across Europe, Asia, and the US. This development was first reported by Bloomberg News.
