Gulf Carrier Adds Destinations in Major Expansion Effort
Etihad Airways has announced a significant expansion of its African network, adding six new international routes from its base in Abu Dhabi. The new destinations include Accra in Ghana, Asmara in Eritrea, Harare in Zimbabwe, Kinshasa and Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Lagos in Nigeria. This move aligns with growing economic ties between the UAE and Africa, and follows the airline’s recent announcement of expansion into five Chinese cities. According to Etihad, the expansion is driven by strong underlying demand and aims to provide connectivity that enables growth. This development was first reported by AeroTime.
