Dubai Unveils World's First Commercial Air Taxi Vertiport

Dubai Airport Launches Innovative Electric Vertical Takeoff Infrastructure

Dubai International Airport has launched the world’s first commercial air taxi vertiport, a 3,100m² facility that can service 170,000 passengers and features fast-charging equipment for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The vertiport, which has reached technical completion, is the result of a partnership between Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Skyports Infrastructure, and US eVTOL developer Joby Aviation. The launch marks a key milestone in Dubai’s urban mobility journey, with the emirate aiming to commercialize air taxi services by the end of the year. This development was first reported by AeroTime.
