Brazil Expands Defence Industrial Base Through Government Partnerships
The Brazilian Ministry of Defence has signed memorandums of understanding with state-owned companies to expand defence exports through a government-to-government model. The agreements aim to provide legal security and promote the export of Brazilian defence technologies, according to the MoD. The pacts regulate the participation of state-owned companies in government-to-government sales and are designed to strengthen the Brazilian defence industrial base. Brazilian defence exports have increased in recent years, reaching $1.02 billion in the first quarter of 2026, as reported by Janes.
