Anduril Partners With Kraken On Small USVs

US Navy Gains New Unmanned Surface Vessel Capability

Anduril is teaming up with UK-based Kraken Technology Group to produce small unmanned surface vessels (USVs) for the US Navy, as the service increasingly focuses on unmanned technology. The partnership will see Kraken deliver low-cost, modular systems, while Anduril integrates payloads and Lattice autonomy software. The US company will also sustain and support the fleet domestically. This development comes as the US Navy cancels the Modular Attack Surface Craft program and opens a new medium USV marketplace, with Rear Adm. Christopher Alexander expecting nearly half of the surface force to be unmanned by 2045, according to Breaking Defense.
