Manufacturer Faces Certification Delays and Supply Chain Hold Ups
Airbus has announced that it will not meet the Federal Aviation Administration’s July deadline for introducing secondary cockpit barriers on A220 aircraft. The manufacturer cited certification delays and supply chain hold-ups as the reason for the delay. JetBlue Airways has filed a request with the FAA for a one-year extension to the deadline, following a similar request by Horizon Air. The FAA had initially set an August 2025 deadline for compliance, but granted a one-year reprieve last year. This development was first reported by FlightGlobal.
