American Carrier Resumes Service After Seven-Year Hiatus
The US Department of Transportation has authorized American Airlines to resume flights to Venezuela, with its regional subsidiary Envoy Air set to operate between Miami and the Venezuelan cities of Caracas and Maracaibo. The move comes after a seven-year pause in air travel between the two countries, which was halted in 2019 due to safety and security concerns. American Airlines had previously expressed its intention to restart commercial operations to Venezuela following the easing of airspace rules. The airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nat Pieper, emphasized the company’s long history of connecting Venezuelans to the US and its readiness to renew that relationship. The development was first reported by AeroTime.
