United Airlines Unveils Innovative Seating Solution for Families and Solo Travelers

United Airlines has announced plans to introduce United Relax Row, a new seating option for economy passengers, on over 200 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 777 aircraft. The United Relax Row transforms a row of three economy seats into a cozy space with adjustable leg rests and a lie-flat mattress pad. Customers will receive a custom-fitted mattress pad, blanket, and two pillows. The United Relax Row is expected to launch in 2027 and will be located between economy and United Premium Plus. The airline is the first North American carrier to offer this type of seating option, according to United’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Nocella. The United Relax Row was first reported by United Airlines on March 24, 2026, and is part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to deliver new, industry-leading experiences for all customers.
