United Airlines Seeks Improved Wages and Working Conditions for Flight Attendants
United Airlines has proposed a new tentative agreement for its 30,000 flight attendants, which includes immediate raises, improved base pay rates, and restrictions on red-eye flying. The agreement, if approved, would also include a signing bonus of $740 million. The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA will present the tentative agreement to its members for ratification, with a vote expected to take place from April 23 to May 12, 2026. The airline has stated that the new agreement would make flight attendants the best-paid in the industry, with top wage rates reaching $100 per hour by the end of the agreement. According to Breaking Defense, United Airlines has been seeking improved wages and working conditions for its flight attendants, following a previous rejection of a new labor agreement in 2025.
