The UK Ministry of Defence has expressed frustration with Boeing over the E-7 Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) program, citing long delays and certification issues. The programme was initially expected to provide an aircraft that had been ‘proven out’ in Australia but faced significant challenges. Despite this, the UK remains committed to the programme, with the US Air Force attempting to cancel it last year but being overruled by lawmakers.
