Singapore Airlines Expands Australian Network with New Sydney Route
Singapore Airlines will launch daily nonstop service between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Western Sydney International Airport on November 23, 2026, pending regulatory approval. The airline will operate the route with an Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering 40 business class and 263 economy class seats. Tickets go on sale starting March 25, 2026. The new route will complement Singapore Airlines’ existing four-times-daily service to Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport, and will give the airline a fifth daily flight into Sydney. Western Sydney International Airport, located in the region home to over three million residents and Australia’s third-largest economy, will offer late-night departure slots, enabling smoother connections through Changi to more destinations worldwide. The airline’s low-cost subsidiary Scoot will serve three additional destinations across Australia. This expansion is part of Singapore Airlines’ efforts to increase its presence in the Australian market, and reflects the airline’s commitment to providing greater flexibility to Australian travelers. The partnership between Singapore Airlines and Western Sydney International Airport was announced by Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, and Simon Hickey, CEO of Western Sydney International Airport. The airport’s 24-hour capacity, paired with Singapore Airlines’ global reach, will give Australian travelers greater flexibility and connectivity. The new route is expected to generate significant revenue for the airline, and will mark an important milestone in Singapore Airlines’ expansion into the Australian market.
