NTSB Investigates Near-Miss Incident at Newark Liberty International Airport
The National Transport Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into a ‘close call’ between an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 and a FedEx Boeing 777 at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The incident occurred when air traffic control instructed the Alaska Airlines aircraft to go around due to a FedEx flight cleared for the final approach to an intersecting runway. Flightradar24 has released a visual guide of the incident. The FAA is also investigating the event. Alaska Airlines stated that its pilots are highly trained for go-around procedures.
