Near Miss At Newark Liberty International Airport Raises Safety Concerns

The National Transport Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into a close call between an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 and a FedEx Boeing 777 at Newark Liberty International Airport. The incident occurred when the Alaska Airlines aircraft was instructed to perform a go-around due to the FedEx flight being cleared for the final approach to an intersecting runway. According to Flightradar24, the two aircraft were only 300 feet apart during the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is also investigating the event.
