Electric Aviation Takes Flight in Scotland's Rural Communities
Loganair and BETA Technologies have begun demonstration flights of the ALIA CTOL electric aircraft to test its capabilities for delivering mail to remote Scottish communities. The flights will replicate daily operations, carrying representative letters and parcels. CEO Luke Farajallah described it as a ’landmark day’ for European aviation. BETA Technologies’ fast-charging system allows the aircraft to recharge in 20-40 minutes. This initiative may support Royal Mail’s goal of achieving Net-Zero by 2040 while serving all 32 million addresses across the UK.
