Army Advances Multimode Seeker For Maritime Targets
Lockheed Martin has announced the successful completion of the first flight test for the Army’s Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Increment 2 program, which aims to develop a multimode seeker capable of hitting maritime targets on the move. The seeker was launched 350 kilometers from a M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and can also launch from a M270A2 Multiple Launch Rocket System. According to Lockheed Martin, the PrSM Increment 2 program is currently moving through the technology-maturation phase, with preliminary design review underway. The company has additional flight tests planned for later this year, signaling an accelerated delivery of the system. This development was first reported by Breaking Defense.
