South Korea's Indigenous Fighter Program Takes Flight
Korea Aerospace Industries has unveiled the first production KF-21 Boramae fighter jet, a two-seat jet that marks a significant milestone in South Korea’s indigenous defense program. The aircraft is expected to replace the country’s F-4 Phantom and KF-5 Tiger II fighter jets. The rollout was attended by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, who pledged to continue investing in advanced aircraft engines, materials, and components. According to national news agency Yonhap, the government will leverage this success to advance Korea’s defense-industrial capabilities.
