Brazilian Low-Cost Carrier Enters European Market Amid Strong Demand
Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes has confirmed Lisbon Humberto Delgado International Airport (LIS) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) as its first European destinations. The Brazilian low-cost carrier secured five Airbus A330-900neo aircraft on lease, which will significantly expand the airline’s geographical reach. GOL plans to operate four flights per week from Rio de Janeiro to Lisbon, starting September 16, 2026. The airline also announced a nonstop service between Rio and New York JFK, with a new route between Rio and Orlando (MCO) in the works.
