European Leaders Mediate Dassault Airbus Dispute Over Future Fighter
Germany and France are making a final attempt to mediate a dispute between Dassault and Airbus over the New Generation Fighter (NGF) element of Europe’s Future Combat Air System (FCAS). The two countries aim to resolve the issue by mid-April, with French President Emmanuel Macron and German officials pushing for a breakthrough. The NGF program, designed to replace Eurofighter Typhoon and Rafale combat aircraft starting in 2040, has been plagued by industry disagreements over leadership and workshare.
