Artificial Intelligence Powers Ship Inspection Technology
The US Navy has awarded a five-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to Gecko Robotics to deploy artificial intelligence and robotics for assessing and maintaining the health of military assets. The initial award, valued at $54 million, covers 18 ships in the US Pacific Fleet, including destroyers and amphibious warships. Gecko Robotics’ technology uses ultrasonic sensor technology and AI to identify repairs up to 50 times faster and more accurately than manual methods, according to the company.
