France Deploys Rafale Jets to Enhance Air Security in Gulf
French Rafale fighter jets have been deployed to the United Arab Emirates to conduct air security operations above French bases. The jets were mobilized to ensure the security of France’s presence in the Gulf. A drone strike caused limited damage at a French naval facility in Abu Dhabi, but no casualties were reported. France is also preparing additional defensive deployments to Cyprus, where British bases have come under drone pressure. The deployment may be part of a broader effort to counter Iranian drone threats in the region. This report is based on an interview with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.
