Paris Boosts Defense Budget Amid Ukraine War Lessons
French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has announced a significant increase in munitions spending, with an €8.5 billion plan aimed at meeting urgent defense requirements. The funding, part of a multiyear package, will cover new orders between this year and 2030, with a focus on ground-based air defense capabilities, early warning systems, drones, and counter-drone technology. The initiative also includes the launch of a new wholesale buyer platform, France Munitions, to accelerate munitions production. This development was reported by Breaking Defense.
