Firefly Aerospace Expands Lunar Capabilities with Blue Ghost Mission 2
Firefly Aerospace celebrated a milestone with its Blue Ghost lunar lander, which completed 14 days of operations on the Moon. The mission sent 120 gigabytes of data back to Earth, including high-resolution imagery and video. Firefly plans to launch the Ocula service, a commercial lunar imaging and mapping service, starting late 2026. This service will provide low-cost access to critical lunar data, supporting Artemis, national security, and commercial applications. The Ocula service was made possible by Firefly’s existing Blue Ghost missions, which were funded by NASA’s Commercial Lunar Lander Services (CLPS) initiative.
