Finnish Carrier Finds New Routes Around Russia Amid Recovery
Finnair CEO Turkka Kuusisto announced that the airline has recovered from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian airspace closure, with the airline now back to pre-crisis levels. Kuusisto attributed the recovery to the Finnish concept of Sisu, or resilience, and the airline’s ability to adapt to new routes and navigate around Russian airspace. Finnair has reported solid profits in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and is exploring new fleet renewal plans. The airline’s recovery was reported by AeroTime.
