Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island to Become a Major Aviation Hub with Changi Airports' Expertise
Changi Airports International has partnered with Vietnam’s Sun Group to develop Phu Quoc International Airport into a ‘destination’ with retail, entertainment, and tourism amenities. The partnership aims to leverage Changi Airports’ expertise in airport operations and commercial performance. Phu Quoc International Airport has seen rapid growth in recent years and is expected to handle 24 million passengers annually and scalable to 50 million over the long term. This collaboration is part of Sun Group’s broader airport ambitions in Vietnam, including developments in Phan Thiet and master planning for airports in Con Dao and Rach Gia. The partnership was announced as Vietnam prepares to host the APEC 2027 Summit.
