US Cargo Operator Seeks Next-Generation Freight Platform Amid Fleet Modernization
Atlas Air Worldwide has ordered 20 Airbus A350F freighters, a deal that makes the US cargo operator the largest customer for Airbus’ next-generation freighter. The aircraft will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines and will complement Atlas’ current fleet of 113 freighters. Atlas has options for 20 more aircraft, with deliveries expected to start in 2029 and run through 2034. The order represents a significant expansion of Atlas’ operations and a major win for Airbus in the US cargo market.
