Army Explores New Acquisition Strategies Amid Rapid Technological Advancements
The US Army is reviewing its ground vehicle programs and seeking innovative solutions for rapid design, production, and delivery of ground combat vehicles. The service is considering multiple, competing designs for the XM30 Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle and modernizing its Heavy Tactical Vehicle Fleet through the Common Tactical Truck program. The Army is exploring alternative acquisition strategies to speed up the acquisition timeline and is looking to leverage commercially available solutions. The Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal published a Request for Information in February, and the service is also considering a commercial solutions opening for the Common Tactical Truck program.
