French Consortium Bids to Replace Aging Rocket Artillery Capability

ArianeGroup has confirmed it is developing a 150-kilometer tactical rocket with Thales under France’s FLP-T long-range land strike effort. The FLP-T 150 rocket is designed to offer sub-decametric precision, resilience in jammed environments, and a mobile and scalable system. A first demonstrator is planned for the first half of 2026. The project aims to replace France’s aging Lance-Roquettes Unitaire (LRU) systems, which are due to reach the end of their service life in 2027. This development was first reported by AeroTime.
