Reforming Program Management to Deliver Capability Faster

The Air Force and Space Force are undertaking acquisition reforms to deliver capability faster. Program managers play a crucial role in determining whether the force has capability in hand before the shooting starts. The department is considering updating policy to favor PMP-certified managers for critical acquisition positions. This effort may help improve project outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance deterrence.
