Air Canada has transferred the first of 45 upgraded Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets to its subsidiary Air Canada Rouge, as part of a major fleet shakeup. Each aircraft is being updated with personal seatback entertainment and free Wi-Fi, sponsored by Bell. The carrier plans to transition all Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft to its latest design standard. Air Canada has also opened a new crew base in Vancouver and will operate solely on MAX jets configured with 12 business class seats, 18 preferred seats, and 147 economy seats once the shake-up is complete.
